I've got this old Peavey fretless bass that I barely ever pull out. Since I last looked at it several years ago, the foam in the Peavey hard plastic case has eaten into, and combined with the finish wherever the case's foam touched the finish.
Is there any way I can get the gummy mess off? I suspect the finish is shot, but if I can clean it up, at least I'd be able to play it once ... well, every few years!
Obviously not a high prriority for me, but I'm guessing perhaps some of you may have figured out how to deal with this in the past. I can't believe Peavey lined a case with foam that destroys their finish!
Thanks,
